Actor Shun Oguri is releasing his first "personal" DVD this year through Geneon Entertainment. Labeled "Jounetsu Tairiku x Oguri Shun," it will be the first time that TBS's documentary program "Jounetsu Tairiku" is released on DVD.

The television show takes an in-depth look at the lives of celebrities by following them for many days. Oguri's 200-day documentary was featured on November 11 and 18 of last year, which was the first time that two episodes were spent on one person.

Oguri's DVD will contain a re-edited version of the documentary, along with unaired footage. The limited premium edition will also have a bonus disc with an approximately half-hour interview. The DVD goes on sale July 25.

Anime for Korean Winter Sonata TV Drama Hit Confirmed

The exhibitor notes at the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) 2008 website list a press stage event for the "Announcement of the Anime Production for the Winter Sonata (Fuyu no Sonata)" live-action drama series on March 28. The plans for an anime version were first revealed in December when the Korean media company Key East signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japanese entertainment company Total Promotion.

South Korea's KBS broadcasted the original hit drama series in 2002, and the 2004 Japanese broadcast triggered the ongoing "Korean wave" of pop culture in Japan. The drama follows two childhood friends — a boy and a girl — and the tragedy and angst that befalls them and those around them in the years between high school and young adulthood. As a result of the 2004 broadcast, the lead actor Bae Yong-Joon became a superstar among Japanese female viewers. (A third of the Key East company is owned by Bae.) The Japanese publisher Ohzora Publishing Co. eventually imported and translated the drama's manhwa adaptation (pictured at right) under the title Winter Love Song.

According to Sports Hochi, it appears that Kumi Koda's upcoming tour will go on as originally scheduled.

Due to a controversial statement she made on the radio, Koda has essentially been suspended since early February. She stated last month that she wanted to postpone her tour, but Avex wanted to proceed with it.

As of Friday, Koda issued a serious apology to her fan club members that appears to signal a preparation for her return to work. Tickets have already been on sale, and with the tour's April 12 start date fast approaching, it is very likely that there will be no postponement after all.
